Yoga
A holistic programme of exercise and wellbeing that joins the movement of the body to the breath and to awareness. Through postures (asanas), sequences, breathing exercises and relaxation we work on strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, coordination and control of the body, while cultivating concentration and a better handling of tension. Yoga has been studied for its effect on stress, balance, sleep and general physical and mental wellbeing, and there are indications of benefit in certain forms of musculoskeletal pain. The practice adapts to every level. You do not need to be flexible to begin. Flexibility is a result of the practice, not a precondition for it.
Aerial Yoga
Aerial Yoga uses a fabric hammock as its support, giving us a different and more playful way to work on mobility, flexibility, strength, balance and decompression. It suits every level, and you need to be neither flexible nor strong to start: the hammock adapts to the person, not the person to the hammock. If you are afraid of heights, of inversions, or simply do not feel comfortable letting your body rest in the hammock, we begin gradually and safely, so that you gain trust in your body and in what it can do. And of course, every body can move.
Pilates
The Pilates method, created by Joseph Pilates, is a form of exercise that puts the emphasis on control of movement, stability of the trunk, strength, mobility and correct breathing. In our classes we draw on the fundamental principles of Pilates and combine them with bodyweight exercises and various props, so that the training is complete and adaptable. It is an excellent choice for anyone who does not want classical training with weights and machines, and it can be adapted to different ages and levels. It has also been widely used in exercise and rehabilitation programmes, and research shows benefits for people with musculoskeletal problems, and at older ages in particular, especially in balance, functional capacity, mobility and quality of life.
Aerial Kids Yoga5+
A class designed for children from 6 years old, where movement, yoga and play become a way of getting to know their bodies and what those bodies can do. Through postures, games, balances, breathing exercises and movement activities, children work on coordination, balance, mobility, strength and body awareness, while also learning to cooperate, to communicate and to work inside a group. Regular physical activity in childhood is linked with better development of fundamental movement skills, and active play can strengthen physical, social and emotional development. Our aim is not for children to do “perfect” yoga. It is for them to love movement, to gain confidence, and to learn from an early age to feel good inside their own bodies.
